According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in May this year increased by 20.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and was up 4.5 percent over April.
In May, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 55.4 percent year on year and registered a rise of 15.61 percent over the previous month, reaching its highest montly level since September 2008.
Meanwhile, in the month in question, the monthly industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 11.75 percent over April and was up 48.1 percent year on year.
