Turkish motor vehicle output down 13 percent in May

In May this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 88,069 units, decreasing by 13 percent year on year and down 26.8 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automative Manufacturers' Association (OSD).  In the January-May period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 543,213, up 19 percent year on year.

In May alone, passenger car output amounted to 52,339 units, down 18 percent, while commercial car output totaled 35,730 units, down 18 percent, both year on year. In the January-May period, passenger car output totaled 318,049 units, up eight percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 225,164 units, rising by 39 percent, both compared to May 2014.
