Turkish metal producers’ selling prices up 12 percent

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.61 percent over the previous month and was up 8.21 percent year on year.
 
In April, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry dropped by 3.22 percent month on month and was up 12.19 percent compared to April 2010.
 
On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, decreased by 0.16 percent over the previous month and was up 4.84 percent year on year.
