Turkish steel exporters to visit Kenya and Tanzania

Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB) has announced the organization of a commercial visit to Kenya and Tanzania on September 16-22 with the participation of 22 steel exporting firms in order to evaluate new business opportunities.
 
The CIB said that a similar visit was paid in March this year to Pakistan and Bangladesh, noting that after the commercial visit Turkey's steel exports to these countries saw significant increases in the second quarter this year as compared to the first quarter.
 
Turkey's basic steel product exports to Kenya in the first seven months of 2012 decreased to 24,441 metric tons, compared to the 86,510 mt recorded in the corresponding period of 2011, while in the period in question Turkish basic steel product exports to Tanzania totaled 38,535 mt, declining compared to 51,981 mt recorded in Januarly-July 2011, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
