Turkish PPGI imports down 72 percent in H1

In June this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports increased by 40.3 percent month on month to 3,709 mt, down by 67.4 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports increased by 19.55 percent month on month to $3.73 million, down 54 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In the first six months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 72 percent to 15,955 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $16.8 million, down 56.4 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, Belgium ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 3,270 metric tons, down 0.58 percent year on year. Belgium was followed by Italy and China, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 3,052 metric tons and 2,501 metric tons respectively.
