Turkish motor vehicle output up 6.3 percent in Feb over Jan

In February this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 109,011 units, rising 31 percent year on year and up 6.3 percent compared to January, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the given month, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 65,238 units, up 22.5 percent, while commercial vehicle production amounted to 43,773 units, up 46.45 percent, both compared to February 2014
 
Meanwhile, in the first two months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted 211,585 units, increasing by 34 percent year on year. Passenger car output in the given period totaled 125,652 units, up 19 percent, while commercial vehicle production stood at 85,933 units, up 62.4 percent, both year on year.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in 2014 was 75 percent.
