Turkish motor vehicle output up 31 percent in Q1

In March this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 123,119 units, rising by 27 percent year on year and up 13 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automative Manufacturers' Association (OSD).

In March of the current year, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 72,781 units, up 19 percent, while commercial vehicle production amounted to 50,388 units, rising by 39 percent, both compared to March 2014.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 334,705, up 31 percent, while passenger car output increased to 198,433, rising by 19 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 136,272, up 53 percent, all on year-on-year basis.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in March this year was 87 percent, while the rate in question was 79 in the first three months of the year.
