Turkish motor vehicle output down 9.2% in July from June

In July this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 98,154 units, down 12 percent year on year and decreasing by 9.2 percent compared to June, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the given month, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 61,151 units, down seven percent, while commercial vehicle production amounted to 37,003 units, declining by 21 percent, both compared to July 2013.

Meanwhile, in the January-July period of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 662,232 units, falling three percent year on year. Passenger car output in the given period totaled 422,042 units, up 14 percent, while commercial vehicle production stood at 240,190 units, down 23 percent, both year on year.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in the first seven months of this year was 68 percent.
