According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in June this year increased by 26.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and was up by 4.8 percent over May.
In June, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 40.7 percent year on year and registered an increase of 3.4 percent over the previous month. June is the fifth consecutive month in which the index has recorded a month-on-month increase. On year-on year basis, the last decline of the index was recorded in January 2010.
Meanwhile, in June, the monthly industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 3.6 percent over May and was up 43.1 percent year on year. On year-on-year basis, the index has been trending up since January 2010, while June is the fifth consecutive month in which the index has recorded a month-on-month increase.
