Turkish metal producers’ selling prices up 36.37 percent in August

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 1.76 percent over the previous month and was up 11 percent year on year.
 
In August, the highest month-on-month increase in the PPI for industrial activity in Turkey was 7.01 percent in the index for the metallic minerals industry. The PPI for the basic metal industry was up 3.69 percent compared to July this year and up 36.37 percent compared to August last year.
 
On the other hand, in August this year the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, increased by 1.98 percent over the previous month and was up 10.71 percent year on year.
