Turkish metal producers’ selling prices down 2.74 percent in Oct over Sept

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 1.21 percent over September and was up 9.92 percent year on year, while an average rise of 7.71 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.

In October, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry dropped by 2.74 percent month on month and was up 19.19 percent compared to October 2009. Meanwhile, the average increase in the latest twelve months was 13.82 percent.

On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, slightly increased by 0.22 percent over the previous month and was up 0.32 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average decrease of 0.62 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
