Turkish metal producers' sales prices up 14.87% in Jan

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 3.32 percent over December and was up 10.72 percent year on year, while an average rise of 5.22 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.
 
In January of the current year, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry increased by 5.41 percent on month-on-month basis and was up 14.87 percent compared to January 2013. Meanwhile, the average change in the PPI for the latest 12 months was 1.01 percent.

On the other hand, in January this year the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, rose 3.56 percent compared to December and was up 13.39 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 3.26 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest 12 months.
