Turkish metal producers' sales prices up 1.13% in August over July

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year the domestic producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general increased by 0.42 percent from July and was up 9.88 percent year on year, while an average rise of 9.55 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.
 
In August this year, the domestic PPI for Turkey's basic metal industry increased by 1.13 percent on month-on-month basis and was up 7.02 percent compared to August 2013. Meanwhile, the average increase in the domestic PPI for the latest 12 months was 10.06 percent.
On the other hand, in August of the current year the domestic PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, rose 0.25 percent compared to July and was up 9.94 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 11.42 percent in the PPI index was registered for the latest 12 months.
