According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year the domestic producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general increased by 0.73 percent from June and was up 9.46 percent year on year, while an average rise of 9.26 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.
In July this year, the domestic PPI for Turkey's basic metal industry decreased by 0.24 percent on month-on-month basis but was up 7.66 percent compared to July 2013. Meanwhile, the average increase in the domestic PPI for the latest 12 months was 9.67 percent.
On the other hand, in July of the current year the domestic PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, rose 0.85 percent compared to June and was up 11.44 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 11.01 percent in the PPI index was registered for the latest 12 months.
