Turkish metal manufacturing industry operates at 74.3 percent in August

According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in August this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry came to 74.3 percent, increasing by 4.3 percentage points compared to August 2009 and down 5.6 percentage points month on month.
Meanwhile, in August, the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 6.7 percentage points year on year reaching 66 percent - down 2.9 percentage points compared to July this year.
Capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, came to 73.4 percent, down from 74.7 percent in July and up from 68.2 percent in August 2009.
