Turkish metal manufacturing capacity usage up slightly in March

According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in March this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 76.6 percent, increasing by 1.3 percentage points compared to March 2011 and down 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, in March of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 3.2 percentage points year on year reaching 70.4 percent, down from 72 percent recorded in February.

The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 73.1 percent in March this year, increasing from 72.9 percent in February and slightly down from 73.2 percent in March 2011.
