Turkish home appliance output un eight percent in 2012

Domestic sales in Turkey's home appliance market increased by 2.7 percent on year-on-year basis in December last year, totaling 449,405 units, according to the data released by the Turkish Home Appliance Industrialists Association (BESD). The country's home appliance sales in December decreased 15 percent compared to November last year. In the whole of 2012, Turkey's home appliance sales to the domestic market amounted to 6,458,777 units, down slightly by 0.2 percent compared to 2011.

According to the BESD's data, in 2012 home appliance output in Turkey increased by eight percent year on year to 21,723,449 units. In 2012, Turkey's home appliance exports were up 12.9 percent compared to the previous year, amounting to 16,308,350 units, while Turkey's domestic appliance imports last year totaled 912,633 units, rising four percent compared to 2011.
