Turkish home appliance domestic sales up 6.55 percent in Q1

Domestic sales in Turkey's home appliance market grew by 10.1 percent on year-on-year basis in March this year, totaling 566,841 units, according to the data released by the Turkish Home Appliance Industrialists Association (BESD). The country's home appliance sales in March increased 15.3 percent compared to February. In the first quarter of 2013, Turkey's home appliance sales to the domestic market amounted to 1,501,608 units, up by 6.55 percent compared to the same period of 2012.

According to the BESD's data, in March home appliance output in Turkey increased by 0.7 percent year on year to 1,877,368 units. In March this year, Turkey's home appliance exports were stable compared to the same month of the previous year, amounting to 1,316,463 units, while Turkey's domestic appliance imports in March totaled 131,464 units, up 36.1 compared to March 2012.
