Turkish economy grows 4.4 percent in Q3

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has announced that Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of the current year grew by 10 percent to TRY 414.46 billion ($204.45 billion) in current prices and by 4.4 percent in constant prices to TRY 33.03 billion ($16.30 billion), both compared to the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the third quarter of 2013 Turkey's seasonal and calendar adjusted GDP increased by 0.9 percent compared to the previous quarter.

According to the TUIK data, Turkey's manufacturing sector contributed 21.9 percent to Turkey's overall GDP in the given quarter.

The TUIK also updated Turkey's GDP level for the first and second quarters this year, with the grow rate for GDP in the first quarter revised to three percent from 2.9 percent and the second quarter growth rate raised to 4.5 percent from 4.4 percent.
