Turkish construction turnover index down one percent in Q1 from Q4

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has released the domestic construction sector indicators for the first quarter of this year.

The turnover index in the domestic construction sector in the first quarter of this year decreased by one percent from the previous quarter and increased by 2.4 percent compared to the same quarter of 2015.

Accordingly, in the first quarter of this year the production index in Turkey's domestic construction sector increased by 5.2 percent year on year, reaching 107.6 points, while the production index in building construction was up 6.1 percent year on year to 109.7 points. Meanwhile, in the given quarter, the production index in Turkey's civil engineering sector was recorded at 100.7 points, increasing by 2.1 percent year on year.
