Turkish basic metal manufacturing capacity usage rises in April

According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in April this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 81.6 percent, increasing by 5.6 percentage points compared to April 2011 and up five percentage points compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, in April of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 0.4 percentage points year on year to 70.9 percent, up slightly over 70.4 percent recorded in March.

The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 74.7 percent in April this year, increasing from 73.1 percent in March and slightly down from 74.9 percent in April 2011.
