In May this year, the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 71.9 percent, down from 72.2 percent recorded in April and constituting the lowest rate so far this year, while the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 75.0 percent in May last year, according to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of Turkey.
Meanwhile, in May of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, was 71.8 percent, up from the 71.6 percent recorded in April and increasing from 71.4 percent in May 2013.
The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 74.4 percent in May this year, remaining unchanged compared to April but down from 74.8 percent in May last year.
