Turkish auto exports keep on increasing

Turkish automotive exports totaled $3.29 billion in the first quarter of 2005, up 55.7% compared to the same period last year. In March alone, automotive exports rose 48% year on year to $1.26 billion. For the January-March 2005 period, the Turkish automotive sector exported to a total of 141 countries and self-governing territories, as well as 11 free zones. Turkey's automotive exports to Germany rose 48.8% from $342.6 million to $509.9 million during January-March 2005 period. Turkey's exports to Italy rose 78.4%; however, exports to France fell 0.1%.
