According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 44.1 percent year on year to 91,054 metric tons, down 24.9 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $41.55 million, down 25.8 percent month on month and decreasing by 48.7 percent compared to the same month of 2019.
Meanwhile, in the January-March period of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 324,000 metric tons, down 31.6 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $149.35 million, decreasing by 37.5 percent compared to same period of 2019.
In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 75,840 metric tons. Israel was followed by Singapore with 31,802 metric tons and Haiti with 28,694 metric tons.
