According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in August this year Turkey's steel exports totaled $953.29 million in value, increasing by 15.58 percent year on year and down 6.42 percent over the previous month. Thus, in August Turkey registered the third month-on-month decrease in its steel exports and its steel exports fell below $1 billion mark for the first time after five months.
Meanwhile, Turkey's steel exports in the first eight months of this year totaled $7.82 billion, rising by 6.25 percent as compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
