Turkey’s steel export volume down 7.1 percent in January-September

In September this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 3.3 percent year on year to 1.38 million mt, according to the data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). In the given month, Turkey's steel pipe exports totaled 143,000 mt, down 17.1 percent year on year, while billet exports decreased by 34 percent to 16,000 mt. In September this year, Turkey's long steel exports decreased by 1.3 percent to 847,000 mt, while its flat steel exports rose by 29.3 percent to 232,000 mt, both on year-on-year basis. 
 
In the first nine months, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 7.1 percent year on year to 12.58 million mt. In the given period, Turkey's billet exports declined by 50 percent to 250,000 mt, long steel exports fell by 7.2 percent to 7.75 million mt, flat steel exports rose by 0.1 percent to 1.81 million mt, and steel pipe exports increased by 1.1 percent to 1.38 million mt, all year-on-year basis. Turkey’s slab exports amounted to 442 mt in the same period.
