Turkey’s steel export volume down 10.1 percent in H1

In June this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 4.4 percent year on year to 1.33 million mt, according to the data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). In the given month, Turkey's steel pipe exports totaled 163,000 mt, up 29.1 percent year on year, while billet exports reached 27,000 mt, having decreased below 2,000 mt in June last year. In June this year, Turkey's long steel exports declined by 11.6 percent to 755,000 mt, while its flat steel exports fell by 15.7 percent to 210,000 mt, both on year-on-year basis. 
 
In the first six months, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 10.1 percent year on year to 8.47 million mt. In the given period, Turkey's billet exports declined by 21.9 percent to 151,000 mt, long steel exports fell by 10 percent to 5.24 million mt, flat steel exports declined by 10.1 percent to 1.13 million mt, and steel pipe exports increased by 3.8 percent to 953,000 mt, all year-on-year basis.
