According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in November this year Turkey's iron and steel exports totaled $843.6 million, increasing by 29.2 percent year on year but down 10 percent from October. Iron and steel ranked fourth among the products with the highest export value of the country in November, while motor vehicles had the highest export value.
Meanwhile, exports of articles of iron or steel, which ranked ninth among the products with the highest export value, rose by 12.8 percent compared to November 2010 and were down 15 percent month on month, amounting to $452.3 million.
In the first 11 months of 2011, the country's iron and steel exports stood at $10.2 billion, while its exports of articles of iron or steel amounted to $5.2 billion, increasing by 30.5 percent and up 20.3 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of 2010.
