According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year
Turkey's
stainless flat steel imports rose by 11.9 percent compared to the previous month and were down 13.4 percent compared to March 2011, amounting to 31,596 metric tons. The value of these imports was $85.4 million, increasing by 17 percent as compared to February this year and down 23.1 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first quarter of the current year,
Turkey's
stainless flat steel imports amounted to 91,697 metric tons, increasing 0.6 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2011.
In the first three months of the current year,
Turkey's
stainless flat steel imports from Taiwan amounted to 18,737 metric tons, increasing by 6.4 percent year on year.
Turkey's second biggest source of
stainless flat steel imports in January-March this year was Germany with 12,386 metric tons, up 38.5 percent compared to the first three months of 2011.
