According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year
Turkey's seamless
pipe imports fell by 36.25 percent compared to the previous month and were down 51.1 percent compared to January 2011, decreasing to 12,254 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $19.8 million, decreasing by 42 percent as compared to December last year and down 36.45 percent year on year.
In January,
Turkey's seamless
pipe imports from China amounted to 4,155 metric tons, decreasing by 54.2 percent year on year and down 42.1 percent compared to December last year.
Turkey's second biggest source of seamless
pipe imports in January was Ukraine with 2,306 metric tons, decreasing by 43.4 percent compared to the same month last year but rising over 2.5 times compared to 826 mt recorded in the previous month.
In the whole year of 2011,
Turkey's seamless
pipe imports amounted to 235,736 metric tons, increasing 16.6 percent compared to 2010.
