In September this year, Turkey's coking coal imports totaled 717,604 mt, rising by 131.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $69.6 million, up 87.3 percent year on year.
In the first nine months of this year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by three percent to 4.01 million metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $442.1 million, down 17.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the January-September period this year, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia increased from 239,094 mt to 1,560,341 mt, while coking coal imports from the US decreased by 53.01 percent to 1,414,336 mt, both year on year.
