According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 138.7 percent year on year to 124,421 metric tons, down 13.6 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $56.33 million, down nine percent month on month and rising by 175 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the first four months, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 97.4 percent to 540,420 mt, while the revenue from these exports increased by 149.5 percent to $238 million, both year on year.
In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 73,171 metric tons. Israel was followed by the US with 67,521 metric tons and Singapore with 48,395 metric tons.
