According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 20.3 percent year on year to 48,492 metric tons, down 38.3 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $29.43 million, down 19.4 percent year on year and decreasing by 37.9 percent month on month. In the given month, the average price of Turkey's wire rod exports stood at $606.8/mt, increasing by $3.5/mt month on month and up from the average of $600.2/mt recorded in the same month of 2013.
Meanwhile, in the January-September period of this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 5.7 percent to 736,977 metric tons, while the value of these exports amounted to $439.3 million, up 4.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first nine months of this year, the US ranked first among Turkey's wire rod export destinations by importing 169,311 mt, up 323.6 percent year on year. In the given period, Turkey's wire rod exports to Israel increased by 45.9 percent year on year to 136,474 mt. Israel was followed by Libya, which imported 62,751 metric tons of wire rod from Turkey in the given period, down 33.3 percent year on year.
