Turkey’s wire rod exports up 18.8 percent in January-August

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 24.3 percent year on year to 94,694 metric tons, up 44.1 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $37.8 million, up 37 percent month on month and rising by 15.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the January-August period of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 645,642 mt, rising by 18.8 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 0.9 percent to $255.3 million, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 142,983 metric tons. Israel was followed by Egypt with 90,638 metric tons and the US with 79,976 metric tons.
