According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 34.2 percent year on year to 52,117 metric tons, down 30 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $20.5 million, down 14.5 percent month on month and falling 41.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the January-April period of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 274,878 mt, falling by 7.3 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 33.2 percent to $95.4 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Egypt which received 62,449 metric tons. Egypt was followed by Israel with 59,387 metric tons and the US with 37,248 metric tons.
