According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 19.8 percent year on year to 73,868 metric tons, down 1.66 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $37.4 million, down 31.7 percent year on year and falling by 3.85 percent month on month.
In the January-February period, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 142,599 mt, falling 31.6 percent, while revenues from these exports decreased by 41.1 percent to $73.1 million, both compared to the first two months of 2014.
In the first two months this year, Israel ranked first among Turkey's wire rod export destinations with imports totaling 42,502 mt, followed by the US which imported 42,502 mt of wire rod from Turkey, while Brazil imported 10,618 mt.
