Turkey’s steel product exports up 5.56 percent in May over April

According to the preliminary statistics provided by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in May this year Turkey's total steel product exports amounted to 1.6 million metric tons, increasing by 12.92 percent year on year and up 5.56 percent compared to April this year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $1.18 billion, up by 43.48 percent compared to May last year and up 8.6 percent month on month.

On the other hand, in the first five months of this year, the country's total steel product exports reached 6.95 million metric tons, while the revenue generated by these exports amounted to $4.77 billion, decreasing by 14.66 percent and up 1.84 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
