In March this year, Turkey's steel pipe exports rose for the second month in a row, both in volume and in revenue.
According to the statistics released by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in March this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 149,604 metric tons, rising by 13.27 percent year on year and up 17.8 percent month on month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $140.55 million, up 12.31 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up 22.89 percent over February.
In March, the average export price of Turkish steel pipes amounted to $940/mt, up $39/mt or 4.32 percent from February and indicating a decrease of $8/mt or 0.84 percent compared to March 2009.

On the other hand, in the first quarter of 2010, Turkey's steel pipe exports fell 1.08 percent, reaching 378,904 metric tons, while the revenue of these exports totaled $344.92 million, down 9.99 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
