In November, Turkey's steel pipe exports continued their fluctuation both in export volume and in price, indicating a decrease in volume and an increase of 10.45 percent in price, both on month-on-month basis. November was the second consecutive month that the steel pipe export price rose.
According to the statistics released by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in November Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 109,133 metric tons, decreasing by 1.69 percent year on year and down 21.1 percent month on month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $112.89 million, down 16.94 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and down 12.86 percent over October this year.
In November, the average export price of Turkish steel pipes amounted to $1,034/mt, up $98/mt or 10.45 percent from October levels, and indicating a decrease of $190/mt or 15.51 percent from $1,224/mt in November 2008.
On the other hand, in the January-November period of the current year, Turkey's steel pipe exports slid 10.38 percent year on year to 1.41 million mt, totaling a value of $1.35 billion, down 25.85 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
