Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB) has announced that it plans to establish a research and development (R&D) center and an independent testing laboratory in Turkey, in order to provide necessary approvals and documents for export operations to steel producers, processors and exporters.

The center in question will minimize costs for testing operations abroad and reduce time and energy spent for transport and custom operations. Apart from testing services, the center will focus on production development, reducing environmental impact, while it will also focus on product development, academic research and publication tracking.

The CIB will invest around €1.2 million for the equipment and machines in the center. The association also noted that it will announce the amount of the investment for construction, employees and plant equipment in the coming days.
