In the first quarter of this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 19.8 percent year on year to 5.22 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 33.3 percent year on year to $3.36 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
In the given quarter, Turkey's long steel exports rose by 6.4 percent to 2.92 million mt, while flat steel exports increased by 49 percent to 1.02 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first three months, the country’s semi-finished steel exports grew by 805 percent to 339,700 mt, year on year.
In March this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 32.4 percent to 2.05 million mt, with a value of $1.33 billion, up 47 percent, both year on year.
The rising trend in flat steel exports has continued in March. In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports rose by 61.4 percent to 495,300 mt, while the long steel product exports of the country increased by 10.1 percent to 1.0 million mt, both compared to the same month of 2016.
In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports increased by 81 percent to 196,000 mt, year on year.
