In the first half of this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 17.6 percent year on year to 9.93 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 28 percent year on year to $6.72 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports fell by two percent to 5.14 million mt, while flat steel exports increased by 80.4 percent to 2.31 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first six months, the country’s semi-finished steel exports grew by 400.6 percent to 545,000 mt, year on year.
In June this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by four percent to 1.46 million mt, with a value of $1.1 billion, up 4.1 percent, both year on year.
The rising trend in flat steel exports continued in June. In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports rose by 90 percent to 396,000 mt, while the long steel product exports of the country decreased by 28.2 percent to 700,000 mt, both compared to the same month of 2016.
In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports increased by 28.2 percent to 32,700 mt, year on year.
