In August this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 7.2 percent year on year to 1.41 million mt, according to the data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). In the given month, Turkey's steel pipe exports totaled 149,000 mt, up 9.4 percent year on year, while billet exports rose by 9.6 percent to 25,000 mt. In August this year, Turkey's long steel exports increased by 6.4 percent to 884,000 mt, while its flat steel exports rose by 6.9 percent to 201,000 mt, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first eight months, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 7.3 percent year on year to 11.23 million mt. In the given period, Turkey's billet exports declined by 49.5 percent to 232,000 mt, long steel exports fell by 7.6 percent to 6.92 million mt, flat steel exports declined by 3.1 percent to 1.58 million mt, and steel pipe exports increased by 4.2 percent to 1.25 million mt, all year-on-year basis. There were hardly any slab exports in the same period.
