Turkey’s steel export value up slightly in May

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in May this year Turkey's steel exports totaled $1.35 billion in value, increasing by 1.5 percent year on year and up 1.6 percent as compared to the previous month.

In May this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sector had the highest export value of the country's industrial sectors with $1.66 billion, remaining almost stable compared to May 2011 with a slight increase of 0.15 percent, while steel was the sector with the third highest export value.

On the other hand, in the first five months of this year, Turkey's steel export value came to $6.64 billion, rising by 3.3 percent year on year.
