According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in August this year Turkey's steel exports totaled $1.28 billion in value, increasing by 4.5 percent year on year and up 1.7 percent as compared to the previous month.
In August this year, of Turkey's industrial sectors, steel was the sector with the third highest export value, while the motor vehicle sector was the sector with the fourth highest export value with $1.07 billion, decreasing by 16.8 percent compared to August 2011.
On the other hand, in the first eight months of this year, Turkey's steel export value came to $10.6 billion, rising by 4.06 percent year on year.
