Turkey’s stainless flat steel imports up 70 percent in August

In August this year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports saw an increase of 70 percent as compared to August last year, amounting to 41,889 metric tons, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). This figure indicates a slight month-on-month drop of 1.28 percent.

Meanwhile, Turkey's stainless flat steel import value in August this year was $96.2 million, down 4.1 compared to July, but up 47.4 percent compared to August 2012.
In August this year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports from Italy totaled 9.550 mt, while  Taiwan exported 7,483 mt of stainless flat steel to Turkey.

In first eight months of this year, Turkey imported 309,113 mt of stainless flat steel, up 25.6 percent year on year.
