In December last year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 20,235 metric tons, up 13.11 percent year on year and decreasing by 8.14 percent compared to November, while the value of these imports totaled $28.77 million, down 2.07 percent year on year and declining by 12.22 percent month on month, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Meanwhile, in the whole of 2014, Turkey's seamless pipe imports increased by 11.6 percent to 246,462 metric tons, while the value of these imports amounted to $325 million up 3.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In 2014, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China, Turkey's largest seamless pipe import source since 2009, amounted to 155,011 metric tons, up 25.33 percent year on year. China was followed by Ukraine and Germany, with respectively 24,060 metric tons and 16,937 metric tons of seamless pipe exports to Turkey in the given period.
