Turkey’s seamless pipe imports down 25 percent in Nov 2011

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November 2011 Turkey's seamless pipe imports fell by 49.5 percent compared to the previous month and were down 24.86 percent compared to November 2010, decreasing to 12,254 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $22.47 million, decreasing by 40.3 percent as compared to October and down 11.7 percent year on year.
 
In November 2011, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China amounted to 5,109 metric tons, decreasing by 48.7 percent month on month and accounting for approximately 41.7 percent of Turkey's total seamless pipe imports. Turkey's second biggest source of seamless pipe imports in November 2011 was France with 1,259 metric tons, increasing by 152 percent compared to October.
 
In the first 11 months of last year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 216,515 metric tons, increasing 18 percent compared to the same period of 2010. In the given period of last year, seamless pipe imports from China came to 69,293 metric tons, up 10.6 percent year on year, while the import volume from Russia totaled 39,359 mt, falling two percent compared to the first 11 months of 2010.
