Turkey's scrap imports decrease in January-October

According to the report released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), in the first 10 months of this year Turkey's scrap imports decreased by 1.6 percent to 16.25 million mt, while the value of these imports totaled $6.15 billion, down 2.4 percent, both on year-on-year basis.

In the given period, Turkey's scrap imports from the EU countries remained almost unchanged at 8.8 million mt, while scrap imports from the US decreased by 29 percent to 3.25 million mt and scrap imports from CIS countries increased by 61.2 percent to 3.2 million mt, all on year-on-year basis.
