On the other hand, in the first quarter of the current year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 2.3 million metric tons, up 29 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $1.5 billion, increasing by 30.1 percent as compared to January-March 2011.
In the January-March period this year, Turkey's rebar exports to the US, one of the largest rebar export destinations of Turkey, increased 84.8 percent, while rebar exports to the UAE decreased by 53.4 percent, both compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, Turkish rebar exports to African countries saw increases in March this year.
